Salda Steel Plant founded in 1760 is located on two sites being on the distance 12 km from each other. The first site is in Nizhnaya Salda, the second one in Verkhnaya Salda.

There are 4000 workers and omployees on this plant.

The works consist of two rolling shops and rail attachments shop and is specializing in round billet, bar and structural shapes, rail attachments production. Besides, marketable products are delivered by manganese casting shop (steel casting), foundry machine shop (iron casting) and consumer goods shop (axes).

Our products occupy steady position in the marketplace of. Russia, CIS and abroad. In 1993, Joint Stock Company "SMZ" was rewarded with world wide recognized prize "Gold Globe" by the American Association "EAST DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION" for quality production and great contribution into world economy development.

Axes are manufactured according to STP 119-1-93 of tool carbon steel.

Using of special heat treatment increases axe blade hardness. The snaps of axe handle eliminates recoil,reduces fatiguability and improve labour safety.
