The Comic Book and Comic-Strip Page
This is another large and comprehensive list of comics resources, including links to comic book Web pages (fan pages of books published outside of the Web), an alternate list of comic books kept on the Web, comic strips, European comics, comics conventions, reviews, and newsgroup links. For those who want to bring their comics a little closer to home, there is also a list of comics ftp sites kept on this page. Try cruising down to the bottom of the page and checking out Women's Fashion by Nina Paley under the "sampling of comic strips" section. Why? Why not? (And besides she's funny and we like her!)

Comics 'n Stuff!
This page is maintained by Christian Alexander Francis Cosas, who is also the author of "CultuRe Trap: The comic strip" which is published twice a week in The Maneater, the Mizzou student paper. Christian differentiates his page from other comics pages on the Web by making it a comprehensive listing of actual comics that are carried on the Web. By the way, when he says comprehensive he really means it. There were 32 links to general comic info on the Web, and 88 links to specific comics kept on the Web. Enough to keep a person browsing and smiling for quite awhile. Trust us, we know. Be sure to check out Christian's Nifty Lil' HomeyPagey, where CultuRe Trap is also carried, along with pictures of Lavender (Well, go look if you want to know who Lavender is!)

Comix & Strips
After looking at the above two pages, one wonders how anything as complete and far-reaching could be kept by anyone else. But, like other resources on the Net, if you take the time to look, there is always some more stuff just around the corner. This page is no exception. Created by Glenn Carnagey, this page is also a big compendium of all-you-ever-wanted-to-know-about-comics-on-the-Web. It has its own list of comics pages to check out, online comics and art, comics reviews, different comic strips, newsgroups and mailing list info, and info on some of the people behind the comics. We say, "Check it out."

Dilbert
Beloved by engineers everywhere, Dilbert is the reflection of anyone who has been put in a pointless situation by a ruthless and unsympathetic boss and semi-crazed coworkers. In other words, millions sympathize with Dilbert daily. Drawn by Scott Adams, who is also an engineer in "real life," and carried in the San Francisco Chronicle and other national papers, Dilbert has become one of the favorite comics of many an office worker. Carried on the GNN Web pages, Dilbert is updated daily with a new strip, no doubt prolonging the life of useless managers everywhere.

The Doctor Fun Archive
Doctor Fun is a single-panel cartoon distributed every weekday over the Internet since September 24, 1993. Drawn by Dave Farley, whose day job is with the University of Chicago Library, it also is an archive of previous Dr. Funs for your browsing and chuckling pleasure. Existing in that comic nether world somewhere between "The Far Side" and "The Neighborhood," Dave's work is often whimsical and off-beat. Dr. Fun has become one of our favorite comics, with a treasured link on our own hot list. If you're like us, before long Dr. Fun will become a regular stop on your Net wanderings.

The Jihad To Destroy Barney on the Worldwide Web
While not strictly a comic, though inspired by animation (ahem), this page just seemed too good to pass up. It's a wonderful representation of the quirky twists the Internet will pop up, along with alt.pave.the.earth and alt bizarro stuff. This Web represents the Usenet newsgroup alt.barney.dinosaur.die.die.die. It is maintained by David Brogden of the Santa Cruz Anti-Barney Task Force. This page offers "The Fighters in the War against Purple" and many juicy Barney tidbits, such as a hypertext version of the alt.barney.dinosaur.die.die.die FAQ, some Anti-Barney Software, some very funny anti-Barney art and several other very funny, but deadly, Barney-inspired works. If you've ever had to experience the evil Purple One, you'll appreciate this page.

Johann's Comics Page
YABCP, or Yet-Another-Big-Comics-Page, we felt this section would be incomplete without mentioning Johann's Comics Page. Similar to both the "The Comic Book and Comic-Strip Page" and "Comics 'n Stuff!", a quick perusal will turn up several of its own special gems, including the results of various search engines' lookup on "comics" for the truly complete comics-browsing experience. No comics Web surfing would be complete without it.
